Abstract:
The mexican wheats are characterised by their photo-insensitivity. synochronus pattern of tillering, their stability to late irrigation and response to high levels of nitrogen fertlizer. Phosphorus is one of the major essential nutrient elements. These plants can response to phosphorus due to higher nigher nitrogen requirements. The maxican wheats are prone to shattering which causes losses in yield. The optimum time of harvest these wheats is also to be determined in order to minimise yield losses. This study was therefore, undertaken to determine the optimum time of harvest those wheat cultivars under different levels of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers.
