Abstract:
The practical need for pasture management is simply based on full knowledge of animal grazing behavior. Under grazing condition it is basically essential to make sure that the grazing hard is adequately and properly fed, since the ultimate goal is the economy of feed utilization. In the native breeds of cattle and sheep, there is relatively wide variations among individuals as for as voluntary feed intake is concerned. It is well established that the latter is in direct relation with efficiency of feed utilization. In the light of mentioned facts, it would appear that the prediction of feed consumption and digestibility of forages are of great importance with regard to economy of pasture planning and investement.The objective of the present work is The search and appilication of simplified and quick methods for determination of forage consumption and digestibility in grazing sheep.
