Abstract:
There are not enough information concerning the cultural requirements of sweet marjoram under the local conditions The irrigation intervals as well as the distance between plants are among the most important factors that effect the yield. Therefore any work with the aim of improving these practicies and obtaining the highest yield possible would be of great importance. This study alms to determIne the suitable irrigation periods and spacings of sweet majoram plants in order to get large yield of the vegetative growth with higher oil content. The different in which irrigation experiment is every 6nl4 and 21 days. The seedlings are planted at acoNtant distance of 30 cm apart. The soil moisture is measured before the hours after and between watering. The field capacty is also determined. The spacing treatments are 15 30 45 and 60 cm and the plants are irrigated every 14 years . The treatment plots of each of the two experiments are arranged in a complete randomized block design with four replicates .
