Dokki 4 As A Layer and Chick Producer

The Poultry industry has showen a tremendous growth in the last few years, in Egypt . Thousands of flock owners have come to look upon the poultry enterprise as an economic unit and a means of livelihood . The Egyptian poultry breeders tempted to establish breeds and strins of chicken which are characterized by adequate capacity for high production and resistance yo diseases, parasites and environmental coditions. Montazah, Silver Montazah and Dokku 4 are the breeds established for this purpose . The Dokku 4 which is a breed originated by crossing between Fayoumi and Barred Plymouth Rock is the most wide spread and considered as dual-purpose for meat and egg production . Abd El- Gawad (1969) reported that this breed could be much more promising and satisfactory in meat and egg production if more attention is paid in improving its producing capacity. The aim of this wotk is to Evaluate dokki 4 breed as a chick and egg producer, under the prevailions in anshas, Sharkia Govemorate in the eastern part of delta, Egypt.
