Abstract:
The fungus is primarily a perasite of stems. it may infect any part of susceptible plants including roots, fruits, petioles, leaves and flowers. This work was designed to study the Sclerotium spp. associated with peanut plants in Egypt. Identification studies on different isolates of Sclerotium spp. frequently isolated from the major governorates of peanut production in Egypt were carried out. The frequency and pathogenicity of the isolated species were carried out .The effect of different isolated species of sclerotium on some physical and chemical properties of seed oil of peanuts was estimated. Some factors affecting the fungal spread of the three species on peanut plants were studied.
