Abstract:
Althought honey has been known as food from the earlist of days of which we have historical records, it is only within the recent years that the nutritional value of has been recognised as a superior, quickly assimilated sugar by the diations and medical circles . Diatitions and doctors now recognise honey as food especially for babies, old people and all those with retarded digestion . Honey is universally consumed on a wide scale, without taking any hygenic measures either by producer or consumer i.e. pasteurization, prior to marketing or consumption, despite its gereat subjection to bacterial contamination during its different phases of production and marketing . The Present study is an attempt to find out the effect of Honey on bacteria using test organisms representing different groups of pathogenic organisms.
