Abstract:
Study the best method for* making silage with special reference to its nutritive value. The following points were reviewed and discussed : - Making sillage from each cut of berseem( 1st, 2nd, 3rdand 4th cut) With different methods as follow : - The addition of acids ( AIV method) : four different strengths of the AIV solutions (2.11, 2.25 2.50 and 2.75 normal) were used - The addition of molasses : at a rate of 4% by weight to the chopped berseem. - The wilting method ( Without any addition of preservatives) : by wilting berseem to about 60-65% moisture. ** Making hay from each cut of berseem by the field cured hay method. *** Chemical analysis of berseem of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th cut, their hays and silages made by the different methods.
