Abstract:
To Survey the main types of micro-organisms wich may be found on the external surface and the internal (crop and intestine) parts of the hony-bee, to determine if there are differences between the two microbial populations and study their fermentation ability under various conditions of growth. On the assumption that micro-oraganisms associated with the crop may have a role in the process of formation of honey from nectar, the crop isolates were also studied for their ability to invert sucrose to simple sugars.
