Abstract:
the alkaloid scoplamine (C17 H21 on) was a sedative to hte central nervous system and was employed in the form of its hydrobromide as a sedative in acute moniacal excistement, delirum tremens and tetamus, in relieving the tremor paralysis agitans, in parkinsonism, to enhance the hypnotic effect of morphine preliminary to general anaethesia, in the treatment of the alcohlisma and morphinism.the specific therapeutic and physiological activities of hyoscyamine (c17 H23 o3N) and hyoscine (scopolamine) depended of tenly on their seriochemical.
