Abstract:
The shortage of proteins in countries represents a soundy problem. The main supplies of plant protein for feeding farm animals in almost every part in the world are the oil seed cake .Europe and much of the rest of the world deoend on the U.S.A. and new developed countries for the supply of such protein .However, the demond concentrates in the coming decade is likely to increase at a future rate than the rate of their production.Therfore, efforts shouldbe directed not to increase the quantity of protein supplies, but to search for other new non classical sources of concentrates.In Egypt, the water lentil plant ( Walfia arriza ) and microscopic algae snails which are wide spread on the surface of lakes and canals were used locally by many farmers for feeding their water fowls.The oquatic green plant, water lentil plant and micro scopic algae which are naturally grown on water surface of ponds and slow moving water in egppt as a complete or partial replacer of berseem and decorticated cotton seed cake in poultry diets.
