Abstract:
The present investigations were carried out with the aim of determining which chromosome (s) are responsable for the synthosis of gliadin and glutenin extracted from F2 grains. For this purpose, two Egyptian wheat varieties namely, Giza 155 and Giza 157 were crossed with the 21 monosomic lines of ohinese spring to obtain the proper material for the present genetic analysis. in this method the common wheat normally has 21 chromosome pairs, while the monosomic plants have 20 pairs and one single chromosome. comparisons of the banding patterns appear in runs of monosomic seeds and corresesponding hybrid, provides a potential means of assingning genes governing these products to particular chromosomes.
