Abstract:
A current problem of toxicity in some foods and feedstuffs are caused by the growth of certain fungi mainly belonging to the groups so-called storage fungi.The disease caused by consumption of feed toxicated by pathogenic fungi is refrred to as ” Mycotoxicosis ”. The scientific community remained disinterested in the mycotoxins until 1940 when antibiotics (which are mycotoxins ) were discovered . Great attention was directed towards mycotoxin and mycotoxicosis since the mentioned date.A school of research started in the department of animal production, faculty of agriculture university of Zagazig, sience 1975, to follow research on naturally contamination of food and feeds with pathogenic fungi and mycotoxins., This work was intended to study the effect of corn, peanut contaminated naturally with mould on the performance of aibino white rats.
