Abstract:
The studies eevealed that ansiling legmious crop with poor quality roughage improved the properties of roughages and increased digestibility of his forage crop ( Lal and Mudgal, 1967 and narang and Pradhan, 1973 and 1974 ). Silage made from berseem ( Trifoliume alexandrinum ) by the addition of different preservatives and addittives such as mineral and organic acid and thier salt , molasses , carbohydrates seeds and dry roughages, is well established through extensive work in different parts of the world ( Badr, 1955, Hathout and Radwan, 1963, De Vuyst et al., 1964, Sheihata, 1966, Lai and Mudgal, 1967, Nowar, 1969 and Nash, 1978 ).However , making sillage from first cut of berseen is still different owing to its high moisture and lower sugar content .The present work was carried out to study the possibility of adding rice hulls which is produced in great quantities as a by-producr of ploliching manufactures to the first cut of berseem for making silage.
