Developental Changes of The Genitalia and Adenohypophsis in the Dromedary Camel

Abstract:
The camel playes an important role in Agriculture, especially in desert areas of Egypt. The desert lands represents 29 out of 30 of the whole surface area of the country . The importance of camel refers to its use in transport of goods and passengers and production of meat, milk, wooly hair and hide . Accordngly, some attention should be directed towards its improvement . The adults reprouductive performance and fundamental structure of their genitalia depend largely upon the animals embryological and pre-natal development. In addition, the pituitary gland and its hormones have a profound effect on growth and development. However little is known about determination of the role of the pituitary gland in pre-natal life and the relationship between of the genitalia of the camel. The present work was conduced to investigate the morphological and histological developmental chenges which occur in the genitalia, as well as the pituitary gland of the camel at different stages of prenatal life.
