Abstract:
Four experiments were carred out under sandy soil conditions at El-Khattara Experimental Farm of the FacLulty of Agriculture. Zagazig university. Sharkia Govrenorate’ Egypt during 2000 and 2001 seasons to study the effect of planting date” hill spacing (plant density) and potassium fertilization on growth” yield and yield attributes and quality of peanut (Giza 6 cv).The results indicated the superiority of early planting in plant height. number of branches. leaf area leef area index No. of pods/plant, pod and seed weight plant, No. of pods / m2. pod and fodder yield, seed oil %. oil yield / fad. and seed vigour measurements. Otherwise. late planting produced heavier seeds. higher shelling %, seed protein percentage and protein yield/fad. Therefore the present studywas conducted to definite the population of peanut which perform well at early or late planting as well as to find out its response to level and time of k application.
