Abstract:
Rice (Oryza sativa L.)is one of the most important crops, it is stable food for nearly one half of the world’s population, as well as it’s the cheapest source of energy and supplies some minerals and vitamins. In Egypt, rice is a main cereal crop for local consumption and export, where as about 100-200 thousand tons of milled rice exported every year. The present study aimed to complete the previous study in M. Sc. Thesis on the genetics of quality characters under normal conditions and to understand the genetic behavior of 11 quality characters especially iron ( Fe ++) content as nutrient quality criterion under four conditions, i.e., normal, salt, drought and combinations between salt and drought conditions.
