Abstract:
The cultivated area of Egypt is limited and our country is in a great need to increase the agricultural production to meet the increasing rate in population . It is of great importance to examine any possible means of changing the agriculture pattern in order to increase production ’ one of the possibilities is to raise maize as a substantial crop for food’ soybean is a legumenous crop plant mainly cultivated for its seeds which contain high oil and protein percentages. The oil is used either directly in the dietary or hdirectly in many manufactured valuable materials’ It’s protein is characterized with valuable essential arrino acids’ lndeed’ soybean is considered useful for many uses : The seeds as human food and animal feed and the plants as hay, silage, pasture and green man’e crop’ cowpea seed yield, a popular food seed legume in Egypt and the vegetative pods used in food as well as the cowpea used as forage yield of animal ’ Cowpea seeds contain high protein percentage ’ The Present work aimes to Investigation Has Been Conducted To Study The Effect Of Intercropping Soybean And Cowpea With Maize On Growth Of Maize, Competition Functions, Yield Components For Crops Under Two Varieties Of Maize And Four Levels Of Nitrogen Application.
