It is considered a powerful tool for improving population performance. simple recurent selection requiers two season per cycle.In recurrent selection, selfing of the selected individuals and intermating among the progeny of the selections is needed to fulfil one cycle. This procedure of control pollination in recurrent selection is the drawback of the mass selection. Therefor, this work was designated to compare the effectiveness of mass and recurrent selection of improving fruit characters, i.e. fruit size, fruit flesh thickness, and flesh sugar content, of Ismailawi cv. population,
