Abstract:
Lentil (lens esculenta Moench) is recognized as one of the oldest crops in Egypt and it was used by the ancient Egyptians as leguminous food. It is the second in importance among five crops known in Egyptian agriculture and coming after broad bean ( Vicia Faba L.). In Egypt, little infomution are known about the behaviour, economric importance and the control of insect pests attacking lentil plants. The Present work aimes to Survey Of insect inhabiting lentil plant in sharkia governorate.Seasonal population fluctuaion of the main lentil insects as well as the effect of mean temperature and relative hmidity on the population density of these insects.Effect of fertilization (Macro and Micro-element treatments ) on the population density of main insect. Estimation of economic injury and economic threshold levels for the leguminous aphid. Aphis craccivora koch on lentil plants. Effeciency of different insecticides against the main insect pests infesting lentil plants.
