Abstract:
Control of insect pests by mating disruption technique is achieved by the widespread application of synthetic pheromone over the targest crop . The insects are then unable to locate their mates when using their own phermone system and mating is therefore reduced or eliminated . Science, at higher rates of distribution of phermone sources, trail masking of confusion occure so that the frequency of moth arrival is reduced . It is therefore possible that a lure and Kill technique might be developed using low densities of insecticide-dosed pheromone source . So, the first point of this study is using ultra violet light and sex pheromone traps for forecasting these pests and to study the relationship between their population dynamic and the heat unit in the environment. The second point of the present work is to control the pink bollworm with pheromone in conjunction with conventional insecticides as integrated control strategy.
