Abstract:
This work was initiated to investigate the effect of foliar spraying with some chemicals, viz.IAA, P2O5,vit B1,B,Zn, Mn and Mo on growth, seed yield and its components and seed chemical constituents of cowpea . This work was carried out to study the effect of foliarly applied Zn and/or B at concentrations of 10 and 20 ppm each and their combinations along with control on growth and seed yield of cowpea plants. The results of this experiment could be summarized as follows: spraying cowpea plants with Zn at 10 or 20 ppm alone were the superior treatments for enhancing stem length, number of leaves per plant and dry weight of stem and leaves as well as the whole plant dry weight. different concentrations of Zn and either alone or in combination, in general, had no significant effect onboth number and weight of seeds per pod.
