Abstract:
Minerals represent about 4 % of the body weight of broiler. Although it found primarily in the skeleton. minerals such as calcium and phosphours also play vital roles in other parts of the body tissue. Calcium is the most abundant mineral element in the body. making up some 1 to 2 % of the total weight. With about 99 % found in the bones and teeth and the remaining 1 % distributed in the soft tissues . About 1 % of the body weight consists of phosphorus. of which about 80 % is found in the bones and 20 % in the other tissues. Althought The need for calcium and phosphorus has been recognized for decades . research continues on the role of these minerals in broiler nutrition.Skeletal abnormalities continue to exist, especially among rapidly growing strains of brids. The purpose of the present study was to investigale the interrelationship between calcium and phosphorus levels and sources on the performance of broiler chicks between one day to 42 days of age.
