Abstract:
Ctton is the most important fiber crop through the world . In A. R. E. , it was always and still main cash crop for most growers . Besides, it is one of the main sources for the hard currency. In this year 1993 the area grown with cotton accounts 850,000 feeeans and repressents about one fifth of the total cultivated area of the country . During the last decade certain cotton cultivares, grown particulary in the northern Delta and Upper Egypt sustained heavy cases attributed to various causes of which plant parasitic nematodes were behaved to be a problem. Results indicated that many cotton fields are infested with different species of plant parasitic nematodes .The annual cotton yeild losses due to damage by plant parasitic nematodes, on a world basis is estimated to be 10.7% (Sasser and Freckman, 1987 ).The present investigation was designed to studying the distribution of plant parasitic nematodes found in Egyotiian cotton fields - evaluation of some cultivars of the Egyptia cotton.
