Abstract:
In the present study, four experiments were carried out to improve the reproductive efficiency of new zealand white (NZW) rabbits through the hormonal treatments. In the first, the effects of HCG (pregnyl) injection at different levels on productive and repoductive traits of NZW rabbits, were studied . The The study also included the effects of time of mating following HCG injection, and month of kindling. In the second experiment, the effects of HCG injection on growth performance, gonadal weight, hormonal activity and histology of the reproductive organs of growing NZW rabbits during pre-sexual maturity, were studied. The study also included semen characteristics of the bucks and doe post-sexual maturity traits. In the third experiment, the effects of remating intervals on reproductive and productive performance of NZW does injected with 50 I.U. HCG during post-Kindling up to weaning, were investigated. In the forth experiment, the effect of HCG injection on reproductive and productive performance of low receptiveNZW does, were studied. The study also included the effect of HCG injection on reproductive performance of poor fertile male NZW rabbits.
