A Program Based on Digital Reading Applications to Develop the Inclination to Electronic Reading and Research Paper Writing Skills among STEM Students at the College of Education Prepared by Dr. Essam Mohamed Abdo Khattab Dr. Radi Fawzy Hanafi Morsi Abstract The aim of the research was to develop the inclination to electronic reading and the skills of writing research papers among STEM students at the College of Education through the list of digital reading applications. The descriptive and the experimental methods (the quasi-experimental design) were used. The participants consisted of (30) male and female STEM students in the second year. The following instruments and material were prepared: a list of the research paper writing skills necessary for the participants, an electronic reading propensity scale, a research paper writing skills test , a research product evaluation card and a program based on digital reading applications. The instruments were submitted to the arbitrators in the curricula and methods of teaching the Arabic language and educational technology to ensure their validity. After making the necessary adjustments, the instruments were applied to an exploratory sample (other than the research group) to calculate the psychometric characteristics. The instruments were administered as a pre-test, and the program was taught to the experimental group , then the instruments were administered as a post-test. Results revealed that there are statistically significant differences at the level (0.01) between the mean scores of the research group between the pre and post measurements of the propensity to electronic reading scale as a whole in favor of the post measurement and in the sub dimensions. They also showed that there are statistically significant differences at the level (0.01) between the mean scores of the research group between the pre and post measurements to test the skills of writing research papers as a whole and in some sub-skills in favor of the post measurement and in the sub dimensions. In light of the research results, the researchers recommended establishing a digital library at the Faculty of Education, Zagazig University, to meet research needs, enhance the tendency towards electronic reading, and encourage STEM students to read through the digital space to acquire new knowledge and enrich their linguistic culture.
