Persimmon fruit is of great economic, agricultural and nutritional importance as it contains a high percentage of vitamins and easily absorbed sugars. The study aimed to shed light on and study the total cultivated and productive area, production and productivity, as well as study the production and economic indicators of Persimmon fruit , study the cost functions and study the profit maximization in Persimmon fruit farms in Dakahlia Governorate. The study relied on the quantitative and descriptive methods in presenting and analyzing the data represented in calculating averages, percentages, general time trend, indicators of production and economic efficiency, and cost functions. The study also relied on two sources of data: secondary data and primary data for a field study through a questionnaire form collected through personal interviews from Persimmon fruit farms in the sample areas of the field study in Dakahlia Governorate, where 30 observations were selected.
One of the most important results was that the total area planted with Persimmon ruit s in Dakahlia Governorate was about 1510 acres, and the productive area was bout 1309 acres, and the productivity per acre was about 6.59 tons/acre, and the otal production of Persimmon fruit s in Dakahlia Governorate was about 8.63 housand tons in 2022. One of the most important results also for the sample average was that the total costs were about 5.46 thousand pounds per acre, and the roduction quantity per acre was about 11.04 tons with an average price of about 3.50 thousand pounds per ton, and the total revenue was about 149.07 thousand ounds per acre, and the net return per acre was about 143.61 thousand pounds, and he total margin was about 179.15 thousand pounds per acre, and the profitability of he pound spent was about 26.29 pounds. The lost production per acre due to the deviation of actual production from the profit-maximizing volume was estimated at bout 5 tons. Thus, the lost production of Persimmon fruit s at the national level eached about 7.55 thousand tons in 2002.
