Abstract:
This work evaluate some Pruns Species as rootstocks for the widely spread almond cv. Ne Plus ultra. The teasted rootstocks were: common Marianna plum (P.Cerasfera), Marianna 2624 Plum (P.cerasifera × P.munsoniana). apricot (P.arminiaca), in addition to the conventional bitter almond (P.amygdalus). The two plum stocks are more tolerent to poor areation and high wetting of soil than bitter almond (Monstra et al., 1974 and Jaynes, 1979).
