Most Egyptian cities are characterized by a duality of market and commercial areas, as they include old commercial areas that represent the first nuclei of the city, and modern commercial areas located in the newly established neighborhoods of the city. There is a great difference between them in the types of goods, the characteristics of the merchants, the shops, and the consumers. The importance of studying the commercial activities on Arab League Street through an analytical geographical study lies in the fact that the street is the main axis of the central business district in Giza city, which, like its counterparts in central districts, forms one of its urban features. It is the result of three main axes: the plan, the buildings, and the function, although it ultimately forms a part of these functions. The research represents an attempt to study the distinctive geographical location of the street that specialized in commercial activity as a result of the spatial processes and interaction within the city, which is what commercial geography is going towards recently, as it has gone beyond general rules and distribution based on the hierarchy of cities and the evaluation of sales data and consumer behavior patterns only, to include the application of mathematical and spatial models and location/attraction characteristics related to social, demographic and urban elements.
