Abstract:
This study evaluated determinants, predictors, and negative impacts of burnout among 284 healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Frontline work, COVID-19 infection, and exposure to illness or death among colleagues or family members were common pandemic-related experiences. Multivariate analysis identified frontline work and sleep deprivation as important predictors of burnout, which was associated with negative consequences including medical errors.
