Abstract:
This research aims to utilize fabric remnants through smart synthesis methods supported by artificial intelligence applications to design and produce children's clothing that achieves aesthetic, functional, and economical goals, while aligning with modern fashion trends and contributing to sustainable development objectives. The research also seeks to create designs with contemporary features that meet the needs of early childhood, while developing diverse alternatives for each design to enrich the design process and expand the range of proposed clothing to meet the needs of the target group. To achieve its objectives, the research relied on a descriptive-analytical approach, along with experimental and quasi-experimental methods. Twenty (20) proposed designs for children's clothing in the 3-6 year age group were developed, using the Gemini smart synthesis technique for each design. Five (5) innovative ideas were generated, resulting in a total of 100 proposed designs for children's dresses, suitable for various occasions and appropriate for the target age group. These designs were evaluated by (15) specialized judges and (51) consumers (mothers of children and clothing store owners), using evaluation forms that included aspects (aesthetic, innovative, functional, marketing, and economic). After statistical processing of the data, the results showed that the proposed designs achieved high acceptance and satisfaction from the judges and consumers. The best clothing designs in achieving the evaluation criteria (aesthetic, innovative, functional, economic, and marketing), according to the judges' opinions, were Design No. (1), Combination No. (4), with a quality index of (96.76%), followed by Design No. (8), Combination No. (4), with a quality index of (96.12%). The best clothing designs according to consumer opinions were No. (1) Combination No. (4) with a quality factor of (96.76%), followed by Design No. (8) Combination No. (4) with a quality factor of (96.50%). The best (20) children’s clothing designs were implemented with their innovative combinations from fabric remnants. These designs achieved all aspects of evaluation, and they were distinguished by being modern and keeping up with fashion trends, which confirms the success of the smart combination method in supporting fashion and sustainability.
At the end of the research, a set of recommendations and future research were presented through which more diverse models can be developed using fabric remnants for different age groups, which opens the way for future research that contributes to enhancing innovation and sustainability in the fashion industry, and supports academic and practical trends towards design solutions that combine the aesthetic, functional and environmental dimensions.
