Abstract:
This paper investigates the effect of post-grouting on the behavior of bored piles through a case study in the New Administrative Capital, Egypt. The analysis was conducted using Plaxis 3D finite element software to evaluate improvements in pile performance. The study focuses on the enhancement of load-carrying capacity and the potential reduction in pile length while maintaining the same design capacity. Post-grouting at the pile tip was simulated by modeling the construction sequence and soil improvement process. A parametric study was performed to assess the influence of different soil conditions and pile parameters on performance. The numerical results indicate significant improvements in pile capacity due to post-grouting, primarily resulting from enhanced soil strength and stiffness at the pile tip, leading to more efficient and economical pile design.
