One of the most important factors in the field of animal nutrition and consequently production specially in the hot and desert lands is the availability of drinking water and its sufficiency for normal production . Total water intake represents summation of the free , dietary and metabolic water . It is well known that ruminant are affected by water deprivation more than poultry because of toxicity of urea which is the final product of protein metabolism. These facts led us to conduct this work to Study the effect of DM intake of feed on the total water intake under the normal practical conditions in Egypt.
