Abstract:
Toxication of both man and animal as a result of feeding mouldy contaminated feed attracted the attention of workers in the field of human and animal nutrition . In Egypt , since 1975 a school of research on mycotoxins and mycotoxicosis of naturally and artificially mouldy foods and feeds was established in Department of Animal Production , Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University (Nowar, 1975,b,.c and Nowar et al., 1979 a,b, 1980, b. 1981 and 1983 a,b,c). Aflatoxins are a series of metabolites which are produced from a large group of strains of Aspergillus spp ( flavus and parasiticus. ; . etc ) and Rhisopus spp (Goldblatt, 1969, and Scott et al., 1967 ). The production of a definite mycotoxin from a definite fungus depends on some factors such as moisture, temperature, subtrate, aeriation, isolation of the strain and other factors. The deviation in these factors might prevent the ptoduction of this mycotoxin or lead to the production of another fungal metabolte . The aim of this work was to Study the copability of asperqiliue parasiticvs nrrl 31 45 for producing oflatoxins with special references to the biological and nutritional effects of produced of latoxins.
