Abstract:
Although this immunomodulation is vital for the sur vival of the parasite in the host, it can be beneficial in the development of new therapeutic avenues for several inflammatory disorders. In conclusion, our results provid ednew evidence that coexisting infection with T. spi ralisslows the progression of T. gondii-induced enteritis by inhibiting the NF-jB and MPO intracellular signaling pathways, as well as shifting the skewness from Th1 to Th2, which increases the anti-inflammatory effect. These results provide evidence that T. spiralis may serve as a potential new approach to the treatment of CD or other Th1 immune-mediated diseases, and various inflammatory dis orders like allergies or autoimmune diseases. Our upcoming research will investigate the therapeutic effects of T. spi raliscrude and secretory-excretory antigens coated on nanoparticles in chemically induced ileitis.
