Abstract:
In the present study an attempt was made to throw some light on the genetic behaviour of some of the major quality criteria in rice, these are , grain size, grain shape, cooking quality and protein content. For this purpose two rice varieties with distinctive quality features were chosen, these are Nahda, a local type with bold and short grains which cook sticky and Bluebelle, an American variety with long slenderical grains that cook fluffy.
