Abstract:
Postoperativepainrelief isadesiredgoalaftertonsillectomy.Respiratory depressionfromopioid,bleedingfromnonsteroidalantiinflammatorydrugs,andairwayedemaall thesefactorsmakepaincontrolisjudges.Peritonsillarinfiltrationofalocalanesthetichasbeenused forreductionofpost-tonsillectomypain. Objective: This studyaims tocompare thepostoperative analgesic efficacyand side-effects of preincisional peritonsillar infiltrationof either ketamineor ropivacaine inchildrenundergoing tonsillectomy.
