A proposed program based on contextual theory
To develop listening comprehension and oral expression skills
For primary school students
Summary of the research in Arabic:
This research aimed to build a program based on contextual theory, and measure its effectiveness in developing listening comprehension and oral expression skills among primary school students.
The problem of this research was identified in the weakness of listening comprehension and oral expression skills among primary school students, and the lack of programs based on modern theories to develop these skills, such as contextual theory
To reach a solution to this problem, this research followed a set of steps, perhaps the most important of which are: building two lists; One is with listening comprehension skills and the other is with oral expression skills appropriate for fifth-grade primary school students, defining the foundations for building a proposed program based on contextual theory, defining its components represented by its objectives, content, teaching, activities, and media, evaluating them, and measuring its effectiveness in developing students’ listening comprehension and oral expression skills. Fifth grade primary students by constructing a listening comprehension test and an oral expression scale, adjusting them, selecting two groups of fifth grade primary students, applying the test and scale to them beforehand, then applying the proposed program based on contextual theory to this group, and applying the test to them afterward
The research reached a set of results, perhaps the most important of which is: the effectiveness of the proposed program based on contextual theory in developing listening comprehension and oral expression skills among the experimental group of fifth-grade primary school students
Keywords: proposed program - contextual theory - listening comprehension - oral expression
