This research aimed to build a proposed strategy based on reception theory, and measure its effectiveness in developing the skills of analyzing literary texts among secondary school students. The problem of this research was identified with the weak skills of analyzing literary texts among secondary school students, and the lack of teaching strategies based on modern theories to develop these skills, such as reception theory. To reach a solution to this problem, this research followed a set of steps, perhaps the most important of which are: building a list of skills for analyzing literary texts appropriate for first-year secondary school students, defining the foundations for building a proposed strategy based on reception theory, and defining its components represented in its goals, content, steps, and procedures. And evaluate it, and measure the effectiveness of the proposed strategy based on reception theory in developing the skills of analyzing literary texts among first-year secondary school students by constructing and controlling a test for analyzing literary texts, selecting two groups of first-year secondary school students, applying the test to them beforehand, and then applying the proposed strategy based on Reception theory was applied to this group, and the test was applied to them afterward. The research reached a set of results, perhaps the most important of which is: the effectiveness of the proposed strategy based on reception theory in developing the skills of analyzing literary texts among the experimental group of first year secondary school students.
