This study is based on exploring the aesthetics of textile formation through the recycling of girls’ clothing as an approach to achieving sustainable development. The research highlights the significance of clothing for girls in enhancing their self-confidence and reinforcing their cultural identity. It further emphasizes the importance of reusing previously worn garments by weaving onto them and employing various textile structures, thereby contributing to one of the goals of sustainable development: reducing clothing consumption and promoting a culture of recycling. The researcher implemented a practical experiment on selected used garments belonging to girls by fixing warp threads onto the fabric surface according to the dimensions and shapes of the intended designs. Hand weaving techniques with diverse textile structures were then applied to transform these garments into wearable items once again, thus meeting the aesthetic needs of girls’ clothing. The results revealed that the aesthetics of textile formation on girls’ garments can play a vital role in sustainable development by reducing waste and fostering sustainability in the fashion industry. The study recommends raising awareness about the importance of clothing recycling and encouraging the fashion industry to adopt sustainable practices. It also underscores the necessity of further research to explore the potential of textile aesthetics in advancing sustainable development.
