The development of GIS software, in particular ARCGIS, has contributed to the provision of a set of tools and algorithms that have greatly helped to automate the processes and elements of generalization in the current era; The ARCGIS program relies on a range of algorithms in the process of linear simplification and generalization: Point_Remove, Bend_Simplify, Weighted_Area and the Point_Remove algorithm are the most effective in dealing with linear forms. It also shows a reverse relationship between the level of complexity of lines and the numbers of heads and lengths of new lines resulting from the processes of generalization and simplification in new maps.
