The current research aimed to identify the Big Six personality factors and to identify the prevailing academic coping strategies among first-year students at the Faculty of Education, Zagazig University. The research also aimed to reveal the possibility of predicting academic coping strategies with knowledge of the Big Six personality factors. The research sample consisted of (707) male and female students from the first year at the Faculty of Education, Zagazig University. The Big Six personality factors scale, prepared by (Ashton & Lee, 2009), and the Academic Coping Strategies Scale (prepared by the researcher) were applied to them. Using percentages and multiple regression analysis, the results indicated that emotionality and conscientiousness were the most common factors among students. The results also indicated that positive problem-based strategies and positive emotion-based strategies were the most common among students. The results demonstrated the possibility of predicting academic coping strategies with knowledge of the Big Six personality factors.
