Abstract:
This study looks at treating diffuse pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) of the knee using a combination of staged synovectomy and external radiotherapy. They checked in with patients about 10 years later to see how well they were doing and whether the problem came back. Patients had both arthroscopic and open synovectomy, followed by low-dose radiotherapy Knee function and motion showed significant improvement over the long term Recurrence was low at around 8.6%, with some minor complications
