The research aimed to develop first year prospective Arabic Language teachers’ applied criticism of literary texts skills and creative language proficiency of the Faculty of Education at the Zagazig University, Those skills are necessary for students to analyze and criticize literary texts in practice according to objective criteria, modern critical trends, which is reflected in their creative linguistic competence. The research participants consisted of (60) male and female of first year prospective Arabic Language teachers’, which represented the research participant that was studied using the proposed strategy based on cognitive linguistics. The research problem was represented in the clear weakness and shortcomings of first year prospective Arabic Language teachers’ applied criticism of literary texts skills, as well as a deficiency in their creative linguistic competence in receiving creative literary production those skills are necessary for them to analyze the literary texts they study in different literary ages and criticize them in applied criticism. Those skills were revealed by the pilot study carried out by the two researchers, and their importance was confirmed by the results of previous relevant research and studies. The research based on preparing an applied criticism of literary texts questionnaire, a creative language proficiency questionnaire suitable for first year prospective Arabic Language teachers’ at the Faculty of Education Arabic Language department, an applied criticism of literary texts test that they criticize to measure those skills they have, and a creative language competence test. One of the most prominent findings of the research, there was a statistically significant difference at the level .01 between the mean scores of the experimental group students in the pre/ post administration of applied criticism of literary texts test as a whole in favor of the post administration, there was a statistically significant differences at level .01 between the mean scores of the experimental group students in the pre/post administration of applied criticism of literary skills text in each sub-skill separately in favor of the post administration, there was a statistically significant difference at the level .01 between the mean scores of the experimental group students in the pre/ post administration of creative language proficiency test as a whole in favor of the post administration, And there was a statistically significant differences at the level of .01 between the mean scores of the experimental group students in the pre/post administration of creative language proficiency test in each sub-ability separately in favor of the post administration, and this indicates the effect of the proposed strategy based on cognitive linguistics in achieving the objectives of the research.
