Abstract:
This study investigated academic buoyancy in the Department of Hearing Impairment at the Faculty of Disability Sciences and Rehabilitation. It also examines whether academic buoyancy can be predicted from academic grit and enjoyment of learning. The sample included 269 students aged (19 - 22 years) with an average age of 20.36 years and a standard deviation of 0.9070. Researcher employed the Academic Grit Scale (adapted into Arabic) and two custom scales: the Enjoyment of Learning Scale and the Academic Buoyancy Scale. Results showed a significant positive correlation (p ≤ 0.05) between academic buoyancy and both academic grit and enjoyment of learning. No significant differences in academic buoyancy scores were found based on gender or academic year. Additionally, certain dimensions of enjoyment of learning and one dimension of academic grit were identified as predictors of overall academic buoyancy in this population.
