This study aimed to reduce familial stress among mothers of cochlear-implanted children through a selective counseling program designed to enhance their psychological resilience. The research also sought to examine the program’s long-term effectiveness during a follow-up period. The sample consisted of 22 mothers of children with cochlear implants, who were frequenting the specialized laboratories at the Faculty of Disability Sciences and Rehabilitation, Zagazig University. Their age was between 30 and 45 years, with a mean age of 36.590 and a standard deviation of 4.415. The participants were divided into two equal groups, an experimental group and a control group, each comprising 11 mothers. The research tools used were the Psychological Resilience Scale, the Familial Stress Scale for Mothers of Cochlear-Implanted Children, and the counseling program developed by the researchers. The study employed an experimental methodology, and the results indicated an effectiveness of the counseling program in enhancing psychological resilience and reducing familial stress among mothers of cochlear implanted children. Statistically significant differences were found between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group, and there were also statistical differences in the degrees of pre- and post intervention in favor of the post-intervention (better direction. However, no s tatistically significant differences were found in the post-intervention and follow up measurements within the experimental group.
