This study aimed to analyze the role of green finance in improving the performance of Egyptian commercial banks, with a practical application on a sample of heads of departments, divisions, and offices in bank branches in Giza Governorate. The research adopted a descriptive analytical approach, using a questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale to measure the study variables: green finance (independent variable) represented by short-term, medium-term, and long-term financing, and improved bank performance (dependent variable) measured through three dimensions (profitability, liquidity, and risk). The sample included 120 respondents, selected through stratified random sampling to ensure proper representation. The results of simple linear regression analysis revealed a statistically significant positive relationship at the 0.01 level between green finance and improved banking performance, supporting the research hypothesis and confirming green finance as a key factor in enhancing bank performance. This effect is attributed to several mechanisms, including enhancing banks' competitive reputation, attracting sustainability-conscious customers, improving operational efficiency through cost reduction, managing environmental and regulatory risks, as well as opening new growth horizons through innovative financial products and strategic partnerships. The study recommends that commercial banks adopt effective green finance policies and increase awareness of its importance among employees and customers. It also suggests future studies to analyze its long-term effects on the banking sector. These results contribute to enriching academic literature on sustainable finance and provide practical insights for policymakers and practitioners in the Egyptian banking sector.
