Artificial intelligence is one of the outcomes of technological development in the current era, as it has become pervasive in all areas and branches of life, which resulted in many innovations that necessitated addressing and researching this topic, in order to display what has been updated in this era as a result of the emergence of artificial intelligence and related techniques and algorithms. What we address in this research is the role that artificial intelligence plays in combating and reducing criminal crimes in general, despite the emergence and development of new crimes related to artificial intelligence, and the latter had a major role in creating them; However, on the other hand, governments can achieve remarkable results in combating all criminal crimes by using algorithms that play a dual role, the first of which is that they can determine the expected crime rate in a particular area, and determine the extent of people’s criminal tendencies through certain data related to their personality and the environment around them. The second is represented in playing a major role in the processes of gathering evidence, investigation and trial. In this topic, we present the definition of artificial intelligence, its importance and its mechanism of action to clarify this mysterious technology that has penetrated everything in human life. We conclude our research by talking about two aspects in which artificial intelligence has had a significant impact: the development of criminal crimes, and the development of methods for combating crime in the age of artificial intelligence.
