The current research aimed to develop future thinking skills and Self-Directed Learning Readiness among biology department students, through the use of some digital learning strategies to teach a proposed program in environmental sciences, namely (blended learning model with flipped classrooms- Web Quests- digital mind maps), in light of that, a research sample was selected and divided into two groups, one of which was experimental (40) students from the Biology Department, and the other was control (40) students from the Chemistry Department in the third year of the Faculty of Education- Zagazig University, first semester of the academic year 2022-2023, the two research tools were future thinking test and Self-Directed Learning Readiness scale, the research relied on a quasi-experimental design with two groups, where the two research tools were applied to them first, and then the proposed program was taught to them, after completion, the two research tools were applied afterwards, the results indicated that the performance of the experimental group students in the post-application was superior to their performance in the pre-application and to the performance of the control group students with a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.01) in terms of developing future thinking and their Self-Directed Learning Readiness, the results also revealed the effectiveness of teaching the proposed program in environmental sciences using some digital learning strategies in developing future thinking and Self-Directed Learning Readiness among the students of the experimental group, in the light of the research results, some educational recommendations and research proposals were presented.
