The study aimed to identify the impact of the use of improved seeds on the production of wheat, and the opinions of farmers about its use, and to identify the most important problems that hinder the use of this seed. One of the results of the study is that the quantity of improved seeds prepared for sale does not cover the cultivated area, despite the presence of returns, and this means that there is a defect in the marketing system for improved seeds. By calculating the productive and economic efficiency indicators for the use of improved seeds, it was found that all of them are an incentive to use the improved seeds. By conducting an analysis of variance between wheat production using both improved and traditional seeds, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups on the total production of each of the two crops. The most important problems that impede the use of improved seeds and reliance on traditional seeds are the difficulty of obtaining them, that they may be fraudulent, and their high prices.
