The Relation between Resilience and Workplace Thriving among Nursing Staff at Zagazig University Hospitals

Abstract:
ackground: Nurses frequently face challenges that can lead to burnout, fatigue, and job dissatisfaction. Resilience is a positive concept that allows them to overcome stressful situations and to adapt positively, resulting in the maintenance of their psychological well-being and mental health which in turn lead to thriving at work, which is a state of feeling active and energetic at work, reflecting an individual’s work enthusiasm. Aim of the study: to determine the relation between resilience and workplace thriving among nursing staff. Subjects and Method: Research design: A descriptive correlation research design was utilized in this study. Setting: This study was conducted at Zagazig University Hospitals. Subjects: stratified random sample of 375 nursing staff working at Zagazig University Hospitals. Tools of data collection: Two tools were used: connor-davidson resilience scale (CD-RISC) and Thriving from Work Questionnaire. Results: 59.5% of nursing staff had a high level of resilience at workplace, while more than half of them (57.6%) had a moderate level of workplace thriving. Conclusion: there was a positive statistically significant correlation between resilience and nursing staff workplace thriving. Recommendations: Providing growth opportunities to nursing staff through workshops and specialized training courses to enhance their knowledge and professional skills in their daily nursing work
